Zampa Partners is a business advisory firm and we’re looking for a Chief Operating Officer to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- In support of the Managing Partner, provide strategic leadership across the firm’s operational functions, ensuring alignment with the firm’s objectives and maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the HR, marketing, operations and administrative functions, ensuring effective coordination, collaboration, accountability and the delivery of a high-quality internal service.
- Lead, coach and develop the firm's support function leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
- Support resource planning and organisational capacity across the support functions, ensuring the firm is appropriately structured to meet its operational and strategic objectives.
- Oversee the firm's premises, facilities, systems and operational infrastructure, ensuring they remain efficient, fit for purpose and support the firm's continued growth.
- Oversee the firm's internal committees, ensuring objectives are achieved, actions are followed through and measurable outcomes are delivered.
- Drive firm-wide strategic initiatives and organisational change by translating strategic decisions into clear actions and ensuring their successful implementation across the firm.
- Monitor the progress of projects, initiatives and key deliverables, ensuring timely execution through effective follow-up, accountability and consistent implementation across the firm.
- Continuously identify opportunities in collaboration with the relevant teams and internal committees, to improve operational processes, systems, technology and automation to enhance efficiency and the overall employee and client experience.
- Establish operational OKRs and budgets for the support functions, in collaboration with the respective teams and monitor performance against agreed objectives.
- Keep the Partners abreast of all relevant operational updates.
- Oversee firm-wide internal communication to ensure consistency, alignment and transparency.
- Ensure operational policies, procedures and internal documentation remain effective, up to date and consistently applied across the firm.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, proactively identifying operational risks, proposing practical solutions and driving continuous organisational improvement.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and client service.
- Oversee the firm's internal learning and development programme, ensuring alignment of training initiatives across all functions and levels, in collaboration with the HR function, the Managing Partner and other stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, speed and continuous improvement across the firm, ensuring the firm's values are consistently embedded in day-to-day operations.
Education, Skills and Requirements
- Have experience working in a professional services firm.
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification. An MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification will be considered an asset.
- Have a minimum of five years' relevant professional experience, including experience in a senior leadership or management role.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, coaching and people management skills, with the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Possess excellent strategic planning, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
- Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate strategy into execution.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, build consensus and foster strong working relationships.
- Be highly organised, proactive and solutions-oriented, with exceptional planning, coordination and follow-up skills.
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to drive change, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Be adaptable and committed to continuous personal and professional development.
- Have an excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
